3-Rere Falls Trail Adventure

This fascinating, scenic three-day tour is a Cycle Gisborne ride. Start at the spectacular Motu Falls and travel over 115 kilometres of mostly quiet rural roads towards Tairāwhiti Gisborne (there's 7km on SH2 from Matawai).

The Rere Falls Trail is a gem of quiet back-country roads and includes 27 km of gravel. 

The tour takes you via Matawai, Motu, Rere Rockslide and Falls, Eastwoodhill Arboretum, and Tairāwhiti Gisborne’s finest wineries.

The Motu Community House offers accommodation in historic Motu village and is ideal for exploring the Motu Falls and Whinray Reserve, before continuing your journey.

Eastwoodhill, the National Arboretum of New Zealand, makes an ideal second night, offering a range of accommodation as well as parkover spots for self contained campervans. 30km away from Gisborne, this attraction offers 135 hectares of stunning exotic and native trees, fantastic walking routes and vistas, including an optional guided jeep tour.
